Cross feeding

Cross feeding refers to a situation where a mother breastfeeds another person’s baby or allows another mother to breastfeed her baby.

➜ This practice might occur in situations where a mother cannot breastfeed her own baby due to illness, low milk supply, or temporary absence.

➜ Cross feeding can also be part of a cultural tradition or community support system where mothers share the responsibility of feeding infants.
