Essential oils can be a very effective tool for muscle tension release and relaxation. The molecules in the essential oils are thought to stimulate parts of the brain responsible for emotion, memory and your response to sensations.

➜ Lavender, Citrus, Jasmine, Salvia, Bitter Orange, Rose, Geranium Rose, and Rose Plant have all shown decreased discomfort scores in evidence-based research.

➜ Peppermint is an effective antinausea and Salvia has shown to decrease birthing time.

➜ Consult an aromatherapist and/or try to sample different oils to find the ones that are most appealing to you.
