No antibiotics

During your birthing there may be times when your provider will suggest giving you an antibiotic. Some reasons are GBS, ruptured membranes, fever or just incase when preparing for a cesarean.

➜ Depending on your individual situation you have a choice to take a wait and see approach, accept or decline the antibiotics.

➜ Exposing newborns to antibiotics disrupts their initial gut colonization at a critical time when a baby’s immune system is being established.

➜ Potential side effects of using antibiotics are developing a rash, affecting your baby’s developing immune system, thrush, and yeast infections in your baby.
